THAI AIRWAYS Excess Baggage Fees

If a passenger is traveling with foreign sector meals alone and their baggage doesn’t exceed 23kg, no excess baggage charges will apply.

Before people board a plane, excess baggage must be assessed and must be paid for. Baggage that is checked in addition to the passenger’s baggage allowance could vary depending on what cabin a person takes, their level of status, military status, travel itinerary and when the traveler bought their ticket.

Baggage that weighs more than the free baggage allowance is charged as indicated below, even if it’s part of a paid-for class and not used.

Excess baggage charges, applicable to checked baggage that is not part of a cabin but is traveling on purely THAI domestic sectors, are in two kilograms (2 kgs) from the purchase date and at a fixed rate listed below.

Thai Airways disallows certain items on its flights. They include anything with a liquid, gas or gel component.

Carry-on baggage should be kept under 100ml per container. Liquid, aerosol, and gel containers with maximum capacities between 100ml to 3L may be permitted for passengers traveling with small children or for medical reasons.

  • Liquids and gases carried in containers 119ml to 1L are not accepted, even if the container is only partially filled, at this time.
  • If a bag is to be kept for use later, it must be a transparent re-sealable plastic that measures one litter in size with maximum capacity.
  • If a bag looks suspicious, it must be presented for visual inspection before passing through the metal detector.
  • The airport follows a policy of needing just one transparent re-sealable plastic bag per passenger.
  • Those who need medication exemptions are not restricted from traveling with a baby. You can take all of your baby’s food and other emergencies as long as the medications are only small quantities
  • Baggage carried on a plane must be checked at the screening checkpoint. All checked baggage that are solid, liquid, or gaseous materials must be presented separately from other cabin baggage.
  • Passengers may be required to produce a satisfactory proof of purchase when they board the aircraft. They cannot open their items within the terminal, but they can pack them in bags so that they don’t get reduced in value by the regulations.

Thai Airways Lost Baggage Policy

Thai Airways make their best effort to get overdue baggage back to customers. It can take 21 days after it is received. Passengers who have missing bags should send a letter in the meantime, or start tracking lost bags online within 21 days.
