If I could pick what to rate this air line on service it would be a -100,000,000,000 Ok I think you get the point. So here is my story. On Sat April 19 I received a call from my mom that my grandma was dying. She had been in hospice for 3 days, and her time was near. It was a mad rush to get the entire family to Cleveland, the the next day, Sun April 20. The plan was that I would fly on Spirit from Ft Lauderdale, Fl to Tampa, Fl then my sister and I would fly on another airline from Tampa to Cleveland. My flight was scheduled to leave at 7am. Due to the reason for flying I arrived at the airport at 6:20am. I went to check in at 6:25am. I was told that I could not board my flight. I was told to go to the end of the ticket counter to re book my flight. Totally freaking out, crying, I walk to the end of the counter. When I am finally helped, the girl tells me "I HAVE NOTHING TO TAMPA TODAY." I was on the phone with my mom, she tells me to ask if there is anything going to ORLANDO. So I ask. "NO NOTHING TO TAMPA OR ORLANDO TODAY." I ask her what I am supposed to do. My grandma is in hospice, she is getting ready to die.. I NEED TO GET TO TAMPA SO I CAN GET TO CLEVELAND. "I HAVE NO FLIGHTS" I ask her if she can look at other air lines for me. "NO ONLY SPIRIT" Totally bewildered, crying, and not knowing what to do, I walk away from them. I decided at that moment that I MUST GET TO TAMPA TO GET TO CLEVELAND!! So I decided to walk from the Spirit terminal, to the Southwest terminal. It is about 1 mile. By the time I get to the Southwest terminal it is 7am... my flight has left with out me. I walk up to the Southwest representative. She sees how distressed I am, and she asks me "HOW CAN I HELP YOU??" I tell her everything that had just happened to me. She looks at me, types into her computer and says.... I HAVE A FLIGHT LEAVING FOR TAMPA IN 35 MINUTES, I CAN BOOK YOU ON IT RIGHT NOW!!!" KEEP IN MIND, THAT I WAS AT THE SPIRIT TICKET COUNTER 35 MINUTES PRIOR TO MY FLIGHT LEAVING... AND THEY WOULD NOT LET ME ON!!! Southwest went above and beyond in helping me with this situation. OHHH but it gets better...SO prior to this wonderful situation, I paid my extra $10 for my checked baggage. Being that I never flew on my flight from Ft Lauderdale, I decided to call Spirit to see if they would switch my $10 charge to a return flight that I had booked for my brothers graduation. After 45 minutes on hold... I get... YEP YOU GUESSED IT... SOMEONE THAT DOESN'T FREAKING SPEAK ENGLISH!!!! After I very slowly tell her what I need, she proceeds to tell me THAT I HAVE NO RETURN FLIGHT FROM TAMPA TO FT LAUDERDALE. I say UMM Yes I do. Here is the confirmation number. So the non speaking woman tells me that since I was A NO SHOW FOR MY FIRST FLIGHT... THEY CANCELED MY ENTIRE RESERVATION!! Totally pissed off, I tell her ok then you didn't charge my credit card. OH YES SHE SAYS WE DID. I say ohhh NO YOUR NOT!! I tell her that I am having trouble understanding you SINCE YOU DON'T FREAKING SPEAK ENGLISH, AND I WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER OR SUPERVISOR. Now this conversation that I had with the non English speaking woman took all of 3 minutes. She then puts me on hold... AFTER BEING ON HOLD FOR ONE HOUR AND FORTY-FIVE MINUTES... I HANG UP. I call my mom, and tell her this is something that she will have to deal with, since she is the one that paid for my flight. They are still disputing the charge. But in my 30 years of being alive, and after 14 years in customer service, I have NEVER IN MY LIFE BEEN SOOO DISGUSTED IN HOW UNSYMPATHETIC THIS AIRLINE HAS BEEN. I VOW TO NEVER FLY SPIRIT AGAIN. MESSING WITH ME BEING ABLE TO SEE MY GRANDMA BEFORE SHE DIES....I AM NOT SURE HOW THESE PEOPLE SLEEP AT NIGHT. OHHHH but I am on the look for all the people that "HELPED" ME FROM SPIRIT...CAUSE KARMA IS A BITCH WHEN YOU MESS WITH HER!!! I am planning on writing a personal letter to the Southwest customer service center, to let them know, how much I apprecaite the help they gave me. As for Spirit....YOU WILL NEVER SEE A PENNY OF MY MONEY AGAIN. |
